Naykabgokab stands as a distinctive and groundbreaking online platform, fostering a collaborative space for users to exchange their ideas, address challenges, and propose solutions. The term Naykabgokab draws its essence from two elements: "Naykab," representing "idea" in the Dzongkha language of Bhutan, and "Gokab," signifying "opportunities."
The inception of this platform traces back to our victory in the 2022 National Innovation Platform hackathon, a competition aimed at nurturing ingenuity and inventiveness among emerging Bhutanese entrepreneurs. Post the hackathon triumph, our journey continued, with unwavering backing from esteemed organizations such as UNDP, DHI, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, propelling the evolution of the platform.
Naykabgokab is meticulously crafted to serve as an inclusive and user-centric hub, fostering unhindered communication and collaboration among its users. The platform provides a diverse array of mediums—text, images, and videos—for users to share their ideas, present challenges, and offer solutions. Additionally, users are empowered to publish articles related to their concepts or fields of interest, kindling deeper dialogues and collaborative efforts.
At its core, Naykabgokab strives to ignite innovation and entrepreneurship within Bhutan's youth. By providing a space for idea-sharing and cooperative brainstorming, our aspiration is to ignite the forthcoming cohort of innovators and adept problem solvers across the nation.
In essence, Naykabgokab stands as a potent instrument, propelling collaboration and innovation throughout Bhutan.
There were four individuals at the helm of this project's development. On the frontend, we harnessed the power of the React library, complemented by MUI, and stylized using style components. Our design concepts took shape within Figma, meticulously curated by our UX designer, Thinley Dhendup.
Four dedicated individuals spearheaded the development of this project, infusing it with their expertise and collaborative spirit. In the realm of frontend development, the React library stood as our cornerstone, fortified by the accompaniment of MUI and elegantly stylized through the application of style components. Notably, our imaginative design concepts found their tangible form within Figma's virtual canvas, meticulously curated by our gifted UX designer, Thinley Dhendup.
Operating within the dynamic of collaboration, we strategically employed a Branching Diagram—a tool adept at navigating the intricate waters of code interplay among teams. This tactical choice mitigated the risk of code conflicts, fostering an environment of harmonious teamwork. Shifting focus to the backend, we entrusted the robust Rails framework to underpin our architecture, with all APIs adhering to the REST protocol. To enhance the efficiency of our frontend colleagues, we harnessed the power of swagger to craft comprehensive API documentation, effectively eliminating any unnecessary waiting periods.
Steering our project through its lifecycle, we embraced the agility mindset—a beacon guiding us toward timely project completion. The choreography of tasks was deftly orchestrated by our lead, Tandin Tswewang, ensuring that each team member bore responsibilities aligned with their strengths. Meanwhile, in the realm of backend development, the deft proficiency of our Backend Developer, Kuenzang Choden, was instrumental in breathing life into the backend functionalities.
